We at The Glass Slipper Project are thankful for people like you who generously give of themselves to make the dreams of thousands of young women come true. Our very existence depends upon these gifts from the heart.
The young women this organization serves are between 16 and 18 years old and we want to make sure that the clothing and accessories we provide are appropriate for their age and style. It’s our wish to make them feel like Cinderella in her carriage going to the ball. In order to help us, help them, we kindly request that you please follow our “Donation Guidelines”.
If, after reviewing our guidelines, you feel that your items are not appropriate for teenagers, yet, you would still like to make a contribution, we accept financial donations. These funds will be used to buy dresses and, accessories, as well as to help to cover operating costs.
Glass Slipper Project Donation Guidelines
- Dresses should be fewer than 5 years old.
- Dresses and shoes should be in good condition;
- Dresses, preferably, should be cleaned prior to sending.
- Dresses should be tea length or long formals. The girls do not take the short dresses.
- For health and safety reasons, makeup must be unused.
We are a Qualified Charitable Organization under 501(c) (3) of the IRS code and, as such we are required to follow IRS regulations [VIEW HERE]. Because of this we will not be able to send donation documentation for tax purposes for any items sent to the Glass Slipper Project that do not meet IRS or Glass Slipper Project guidelines.
Thank you for your understanding, and, most importantly, for helping us make prom dreams come true.

If you need a receipt for your donation, please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope. However, receipts for donations received after March 1, 2008 will not be mailed out until our 2008 boutiques are completed.

*Donated items that are not appropriate for prom may be sold or donated
to other organizations, as deemed necessary by The Glass Slipper Project
in order to accommodate space and storage restrictions. In the event of
sale, all proceeds will be used to support operations of The Glass Slipper
Project.
